“Today’s event marks the start of what is going to be a pivotal transformation for not only Mid-City, but for the City of Lake Charles as a whole. In addition to resilient, attainable housing being constructed, the Mid-City Transformation and Choice Neighborhood Grant initiative mean impactful change to infrastructure and quality of life in this central-City neighborhood. This project will spur future development, and we are proud to collaborate with so many partners to bring this vision to life,” said Mayor Hunter.
“I am extremely proud of the Just Imagine 50-year resilience plan, the untiring efforts of all the people in the community who came together to secure the Choice Neighborhoods Implementation Grant,” said Taylor. “While we are here to celebrate the groundbreaking for the Mid-City Lofts and the demolition of the Lloyd Oaks Developments, I realize the magnitude of the work ahead and look forward to it.”
